When I contacted Olivier, I was in the middle of a complicated sale. I was the buyer of a property using private capital from an investor based in UK. But some difficulties came along the way with the owner and her solicitor, on the top of dealing with the bureaucracy of both countries that made the whole operation really a challenge.

We hired another lawyer and gave that person a Power of Attorney for a purchase of a house. We were advised by our lawyer to sign the arras (earnest money contract) and give a 10% deposit, only to find out one week before signing the deed that the property was full of debts and encumbrances dating back from 2010 (unpaid local council taxes), which we would “inherit” by purchasing the property. We’ve had a nightmare scenario with stress and anxiety due to this horrible late news.
